The CFDCCO is working with other CFDC's and service providers in the Okanagan Region to source additional capital for businesses seeking growth capital. During uncertain economic times, access to venture capital is more difficult to arrange. Working with venture capital providers and lenders to ensure that additional capital can be found and is more accessible is ongoing.

Early in 2011, Community Futures Central Okanagan signed an agreement with the Province of BC where the Forest Commuunity Business Loans Program was renamed Community Business Loans Program where eligibility for loans extends beyond the forest sector to include:

• aquaculture, manufacturing and eco/cultural tourism;
• the development or use of innovative technology and clean and renewable energy;
• the start-up and expansion of exporting businesses.

Community Futures Central Okanagan is pleased that the partnership with the Province of BC has evolved to expand this loan program that will help to finance innovative businesses.
