Member Recruitment
If you are interested in Community Economic Development and strengthening our communities and helping to shape the future of the Central Okanagan, Community Futures Development Corporation of Central Okanagan accepts Expressions of Interest for becoming an active member and serving on a Committee. Committee Members act as "champions" in community economic development for our region. This is a volunteer position, requiring a time commitment of approximately 4 - 8 hours per month.
Directors of the CFDCCO are active members and have demonstrated their commitment and interest in the organization and have contributed to the development and success of the CFDCCO through their involvement in the various committees and projects of the organization. All Directors are elected annually by the active CFDCCO members.
PROFICIENCIES DESIRED - Three or more of the following qualities are desirable for the effective performance of a CFDCCO Committee Member:

Knowledge of Community Economic Development and Central Okanagan trade and commerce conditions.

Willingness to be receptive to innovative ideas combined with the ability to identify entrepreneurial and business opportunities in today’s economy. Background in business and finance is an asset.

Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and commitment to the objectives of the CFDC-CO.

Strong interest in local issues related to the forest sector, agriculture, unemployment, tourism, business training needs, youth entrepreneurship and services for entrepreneurs with disabilities.

Understanding of not-for-profit Corporations.

Ability to communicate with and develop ongoing networks with individuals from a broad cross section of society.

Ability to commit to a minimum of one meeting a month plus, on occasion, a special meeting may be called to discuss time-constrained issues. Time required is approximately two to three hours per meeting with additional time allotted for preparation.
